Stella White is an 18 year old Downbeat Award Winning vocalist currently pursuing her Bachelors of Jazz Performance at McGill University. She’s returning to Vancouver Island for the holidays and is so excited to return to this amazing collaboration with Ashley Wey and other fantastic Victoria musicians. Her tone, storytelling, and love for the music is palpable, and she’ll be bringing all of that and more to the stage on January 3rd.
Ashley Wey is a multi award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter and pianist. She has worked with Juno Award-winners Brandi Distrehaft, Mae Moore, and The Parachute Club. She has toured across Canada coast to coast many times while working for Sony BMG, backing up Canadian Idol winners, as well as visited 56 countries with her Trio while working on cruise ships around the world.Pianist, composer and singer Ashley Wey is a multi-faceted artist who is highly regarded for both her playing and her writing, as well as how she seamlessly crosses over from jazz to live electronic music and hip-hop.
Stella and Ashley are joined by a fantastic band with strong musical chemistry, and it’s sure to be a great night, featuring classic vocal standards, cheeky arrangements, and joy onstage.
